Aerodrome Finance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project designed to be a central liquidity hub on the Base network. It incorporates advanced features from Velodrome V2, including a liquidity incentive engine and a vote-lock governance model. Users can participate in governance by locking their AERO tokens to convert them into veAERO NFTs, which represent their voting power. This system incentivizes active participation and rewards users for contributing to the protocol's growth​.
